Home School Program

  The Home School Program is available for four-and-five-year-old kindergarten and grades one through twelve. Under the parent’s supervision, students in 9th-12th grade receive credit toward graduation requirements and can earn a diploma from Covington Academy.

Covington Academy will provide . . .

  • All necessary materials, tests, and quizzes to complete grade/courses selected, based on program choice
  • Weekly lesson plans
  • Grade level placement based upon review of previous work completed
  • An academic calendar
  • Progress reports for record keeping
  • Evaluation of student work for each grading period
  • A report card after each grading period
  • Credit toward graduation once all lessons have been viewed, assignments and tests have been completed, and passing grades have been earned
  • High school course offerings to meet graduation requirements for college preparatory program of study
  • A diploma acknowledging completion of graduating requirements
  • One copy of transcript free of charge


  • All applications are subject to Covington Academy Office approval.
  • Enroll in sufficient time to complete the necessary course work for graduation requirements. 
  • Alterations cannot be made to academic requirements for any course
  • All student work becomes the unconditional property of Covington Academy
  • Class rank is based on the weighted GPA

Enrollment Information

The Independent Study Program allows for maximum flexibility and parental adjustments to the curriculum. See suggested high school course offerings. Enrollment is not limited by age requirements.  

Home school students are welcome to tryout for our sports teams. Restrictions apply. Please check with our home school department for more information.
